BACKSTORY
excellence must only breed excellence - it's a phrase which drives her older brother, hanse, to become what he is. the perfect son, which never cracks under any circumstances given. he's born that way, he came into this world and he's already shining and bright, whereas haein had to shape herself into one because as their mother said, 'excellence must only breed excellence'.
god that phrase loomed at her like her own personal shadow, it's just behind her to remind her of what she must be.
in her thoughts, if hanse does it best she must do better than best. she feels rather competitive for attention, hence she tries to one-up her older brother every moment she gets. she loves the proud smile from her parents' faces and the bonus is hanse's annoyed expression. it had been a constant fucking competition with hanse, until she had realized that obvious favoritism with her parents.
even if she does her best, it's only temporary, it's always going to be hanse.
she thinks she has it bad, but her younger brother has it worse. he is constantly reminded that he's not cut-off to even be her parents' son. she hated that. and that phrase she lived by started to become a bitter after taste in her mouth.
having the only guts, she is the only one who really stands up against their parents and she knows she has the right to since she gives them what they want. she just wishes that they also give since they love to ask so much.
she craved affection, and she feels like her younger brother and sister does not get that enough so she gives it to them. she dotes on her siblings, sometimes she acts like their mother to the point it can really get bothersome.
she's the type of sister who's not going to be shy to run up to you and hug you in public. she tends to baby hyun and hana too much, if possible a fly can't hurt them. not at all. and of course, to her, no one deserves her younger siblings so she definitely tends to be over protective of them.

• i honestly just didn't create this girlie out of whim, i took inspiration after louise belcher from bob's burgers, toph beifong from avatar the last airbender, and kang sol b from law school; she's like a mix of them.
• regarding the dynamics between hyun, hana and haein, they're literally your eldest, middle child, and youngest. hana's the almost emotionally detached youngest, hyun's the one who gets shit from their parents, and well haein's the mother hen of the two.
